Under the banner “Digital services so good people prefer to use them”, the Government Digital Service is transforming the way that government services are delivered online. By taking a user-centric and inclusive approach, GDS helps managers improve their online delivery. Alex Muller will talk about the design principles that are guiding the redesign of government online services (gov.uk) and how they are being applied, including the way they use Agile project management methods to respond to user research and feedback and rapidly iterate the service to meet user needs. He will discuss his current project, the Performance Platform, which is helping to transform government by making data open and accessible. Alex will also discuss the way that aspects such as accessibility and data visualisation design are incorporated. Perspectives of a Media Psychologist Adam is a lecturer in Media Psychology at the University of Salford, specialising in using eye-tracking to understand perception and attention.
